Fun Shows To See At The Theater in Temecula CA
A Bewitching Show (Old Town Temecula Community Theater, 42051 Main St, Temecula, CA 92590-2769)
When I was a kid, my favorite movie of all time was The Wizard of Oz. I must’ve seen it a hundred times, and I knew every line in every scene. I fancied myself a Dorothy, and waited patiently for a tornado to come and sweep me away to the weird and fantastical world of Oz. So when I found out that my niece would be portraying Glinda the Good Witch in a community theater production of the musical, I was absolutely thrilled. I pledged to fly in to town and see it on opening night, even though I live all the way across the country from my brother’s family it was sure to feel like home. My sister in-law sent me endless photos of her daughter all dolled up in her costume and the rigged up giant bubble, and finally, the day came.
I arrived in the morning, went to my brother’s house to freshen up, looked around for an Old Town Temecula Community Theater discount code, and then we were off to the best location: Old Town Temecula Community Theater Temecula CA for opening night. Parking was a little difficult downtown, which was my first clue that this was more than just a school play. After a few minutes of circling the block, we finally found an empty spot and headed into the theater.
I was expecting a middle school gymnasium or a cramped makeshift auditorium. There were so many Temecula Theater showtimes, and the theater was absolutely gorgeous. The Old Town Temecula Community Theater seating chart shows plenty of room in this beautiful, classic-styled building with an interior that might as well be on Broadway. I was surprised at how big it was, too—there must’ve been a few hundred people in the audience, and every seat was filled. I kept searching, tickets Temecula theater for hours and it made sense, because I had never seen such a large crowd for a Temecula theater production. I was very impressed by the engagement of the community. It reminded me of the same excitement at the Temecula Children's Museum.
The show itself was wonderful—the set pieces were professionally made and beautiful, and the performers were all very talented, especially considering they were all children and teenagers. It was a faithful adaptation of the movie and book, and my niece absolutely stole the show as Glinda. After a standing ovation, I made my way out to the lobby, curious to find out more about this theater.
In the grand lobby, I found a calendar of events for the upcoming year, and was surprised to see it was chock-full of diverse events, from classical music to rock concerts to stand up comedy. The theater appears to be a well-established fixture of the community, and it was inspiring to see that the art of live performance lives on in Temecula, California.
